June 22 – St. Thomas More: A Martyr for Truth

May 22 — Saint Thomas More

Life of Saint Thomas More
Saint Thomas More, born in 1478 in London, was an esteemed lawyer, statesman, and humanist. He served as Lord Chancellor of England and was an advocate for religious reform. Torn between loyalty to the crown and his faith, he stood resolutely against King Henry VIII’s separation from the Catholic Church, a stance that ultimately led to his martyrdom. He was executed on July 6, 1535, and canonized by Pope Pius XI in 1935.
